Reflectors. - In order to obtain from an artificial light source light having a spectrum similar to that of daylight, the light source, such as an electric lamp bulb 4, is arranged within an opaque reflector the inner surface of which is painted, sprayed, or otherwise treated with a suitable shade of a single colour such as, blue, and the reflector is constructed in two parts 1, 2 with a surface of intersection 3 disposed in the plane of maximum intensity emanation from the light source. The parts 1, 2 may be curved in longitudinal cross-section but the part 1 is preferably conical, and in a suitable arrangement a straight line joining the light source and the periphery 5 of the reflector lies at an angle of about 50‹ to the vertical.
