Abstract

281,170. Bailey, W. S. J. May 14, 1927. Folding brackets. - A folding bracket or hinge for supporting a shelf &c. is constructed so that the shelf has to be initially tilted before it can be drawn forward and rotated. In the construction shown a projection D and a stud C on a base plate A, secured to a wall &c., respectively engage a recess E and keyhole slot F formed in a bracket arm B secured to the shelf &c. The initial tilting of the arm. B disengages the recess E from the projection D when the arm can be driven forward until the stud lies in the large end of the slot F, when the arm can be rotated downwardly as shown in Fig. 5 or upwardly. The stud C is provided with two parallel faces to prevent rotation of the arm B except when the stud C lies in the large end of the keyhole slot F.
