Abstract

280,400. Webb, H. F. Jan. 13, 1927. Spring floors. - A floor is supported on a plurality of superposed series of flat parallelspaced joists, the joists of each series being at right-angles to the joists in an adjacent series and out of line with the joists in a similarly disposed series. The floor boards I are secured to the uppermost series of joists D and three series A, B, C, secured together by screws, are disposed below the top series. The joists B may be cut partially through as at B<1> Fig. 2, in order to increase the resiliency of the floor. In a modification, Fig. 5, the joists B, C may be in the form of metal strips B<2>, C<2>. The members B<2>, C<2> in a row are arranged with overlapping ends and the two series are connected by screws K passing through slots c. The ends of the members B<2>, C<2> may be connected by helical springs. The floors may be built in sections for use as temporary dance floors &c.
