Abstract

279,858. Bimm, G. R., Schott, G. R., and Curutchet, G. Oct.. 28, 1926, [Convention date]. Casings, foundations, and supports. - In a vacuum-cleaner, the casing of the motor 2 is in two interfitting parts 4, 5 gripping between them a ring support 9 resiliently secured by bolts 19 to the upper part 22 of the base. Elastic rings 15, 16 held in position by the upturned and downturned serrated edges of metallic rings form the elastic coupling for the motor. In a modification, the crown of the motor may be secured by a stirrup resiliently secured to the sides of the casing or with a spring at its centre to bear down on the crown. The ring support 9 is upturned at its outer edge to form a support for the cylindrical wall 26 of the cleaner. The part 22 is secured to the base 23 by lugs 25 which hold the two pieces apart forming a ring exit for the air discharge, the part 22 being bent at 12 as shown to assist the air discharge. In a modification the part 12 may be separate from the part 22, but bolted to it with packing in between. Specification 245,662 is referred to.
