Endless-track vehicles.-In motor vehicle of the kind having endlesstracks and road wheels for alternative use, the road wheels and track driving- wheels being mounted on separate axes and driven through suitable clutches as required, means are provided for automatically moving the clutches into their required positions during the conversion of the vehicle from one condition to the other. In the construction shown the propeller shaft C drives either a shaft D driving the endless-tracks, or a shaft D<1> driving the road wheels, through gearing C<1>, d, d<1> and clutches D<2>, D<3> controlled by springs d<2>, d<3> and a lever E. The lever is mounted on the chassis A and its shaft E<1> carries an arm c' adapted to be engaged by stops b<1>, b<2> on one of the track frames B. Thus as the frame moves to convert the vehicle from an endless-track vehicle to a wheeled vehicle and vice versa, the stops operate the clutches D<2>, D<3>, engaging one and disengaging the other as required. Lost motion is provided between the ends of the lever and the clutch collars so that the engaging of the clutches is effected by the springs. In a modification the shaft D<1> is in line with the shaft C and the gear wheel d<1> is dispensed with. Specification 265,670 is referred to.
