Fire and like alarm systems.-The circuit of a motor driving a code transmitter is closed by fire or by hand, and is opened by the transmitter when the signal has been sent. The motor 3 is geared down to a shaft 6 carrying a contact 13, which engages contacts 12 connected according to code in the line circuit LM, and an arm 14 which controls throw-over switches 10, 11, the switch 11 closing the circuit of a local alarm 26 and the switch 10 opening the circuit of the motor at the end of a revolution. The motor circuit is closed by the burning of the insulation between a pair of twisted wires A, B led around the building, or by a testing switch 21, or by a twopole. throw-over switch 19, which opens the circuit of the alarm 26 so that this is not sounded when the motor circuit is closed by the switch 19. The circuit of the wires A, B may include red lamps in the protected rooms.
