274,425. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. July 13, 1926, [Convention date]. Sulphurized derivatives of o-oxycarboxylic acids; condensation products of o-oxycarboxylic acids with sulphur chloride and amines or hydrazines.-Sulphurized compounds are obtained by treatment with sulphur chloride uf o-oxycarboxylic acids such as 1-oxy-2-benzoic acid, 1-oxy- 4-chloro-2-benzoic acid, 1-oxy-4-methyl-2-benzoic acid, and 2-oxy-naphthoic acid. These compounds yield condensation products with amines and hydrazines. The sulphurized compounds or their condensation products are useful as moth-proofing agents for wool, skins, hair, &c.
