Abstract
274,396. Barbarou, M. J. B. Jan. 24, 1927, [Convention date]. Channels and reservoirs in toothed gearing.-In epicyclic speed-reducing gearing, the stationary sun-wheel C is centred and prevented against axial movement upon the driven shaft F, which carries the planet-pinions B, by spaced ball bearings E, E<1>, and is held against rotation by fluted projections X, which may be similar to the teeth, engaging similar projections on a part K, secured to the casing D, with some play to prevent distortion of the casing from affecting the gearing. The bearings and the gear teeth are lubricated by oil passing from a groove H in the bearing between the hollow shaft F and the driving-shaft, which carries the toothed annulus A, by a duct I to the centre of the shaft F. Thence it passes by ducts J to the ball bearings E, E<1> and through ducts L, M to the bottoms of the spaces between the gear teeth.
