Abstract

271,981. Smith, C. B. March 24, 1926. Addition to 270,016. Printing-surfaces. - A mounting-block having grooves and holes filled with a metal reinforcement, as described in the parent Specification, is provided with adjustable clips for holding a printing-plate on one face of the block. The block A is provided with a metal facing plate D and with a metal reinforcement cast into grooves E and holes F. The clips J<2>, J', which may have their plate-engaging projections on their inner or outer edge as shown, are mounted in slots J having side ribs J<1>, the slots and ribs being formed, during the casting of the metal reinforcement, by core-bars of suitable shape placed in the casting apparatus G<1>. Clips N may also be placed in holes in the block. The block A may consist of sheets of strawboard or pulpboard.
