Snow-melters other than cauldrons.-Vehicular apparatus for melting snow on roads comprises a source of heat 12, 13 mounted on the running frame so as to direct the heat downwardly on to the snow. In the form shown fans 3 deliver air under pressure to a receiver 10 connected by jointed pipes 11 with a burner casing 13 receiving oil from reservoir 20. The flame is projected downwardly into a lower chamber 13 extending across the vehicle and open at its lower end. The chamber 13 is linked to the chassis 1 at 23 and can be adjusted relatively to the ground by a winch 15 and cable 14. The rear of the vehicle carries a rotary brush 18 for sweeping the melted snow to one side of the track.
