Abstract
269,707. Wild, L. March 6, 1926. Filtering.-A dust extractor comprises a cylindrical filter within a vertical outer casing, cleaned by a revolving brush, and means for placing the interior of the filter under vacuum when the dusty air inlet is closed, and placing the annular space, around the filter under vacuum when the filtered air delivery valve is closed. The casings a, b, each containing a filter e and having a conveyer d for dust removal, are nor- - mally both open to dusty air supply through valves w, the cleaned air escaping by valves k, and the valve of each casing is closed alternately. The valves ware closed against spring action by levers s operated by cams q on plates n rotated from the pulleys of the conveyers, which are driven from the brush shaft pulleys, and are coupled by cords x with valves y in branches of a suction conduit z leading to the filter interior. Other cams r on the plate n operate levers t connected by a cord 2 with the valves k and valves 3 connecting the spaces ! i around the filters with the suction conduit. The inlet valve of each casing is first closed and the filter interior opened to vacuum, the outer valve of the same cylinder is then closed and the exterior of the filter subjected to vacuum.
