Rolling-machines. - A machine for moulding sweetmeats, of the kind having two rollers formed with complementary mould cavities, is provided with axially movable rods for perforating the sweetmeats endways. The machine shown is specially adapted for making sweetmeat whistles. At the sides of the lower roller 2 are mounted two discs 5, 24 formed with a number of holes which serve as guides for a series of rods 6, 26. The rods are pushed into the mould, as the rollers and discs rotate, by fixed cams 9, 25 and are withdrawn by springs on the rods. An extractor 12 operated by a cam 17 is provided for the rods 6 in case they stick. Each time a rod 6 is withdrawn, a loose wooden stick rolls from a hopper 10, Fig. 3, into a channel 11 in the lower roller and is pushed into the aperture in the sweetmeat by a plunger operated by the cam 17. The cavities in the top roller 1 are formed with a projection 27, Fig. 5, for forming an aperture into the central boring.
