Worm-and-wheel gearing. - A bearing for a worm gear comprises a pair of combined journal and single thrust ballbearings 1, 2 of the twopoint contact type, assembled in close proximity to form a combined journal and double-thrust bearing. The bearings may have the open sides adjacent and be separated by a washer placed between the inner race rings as shown. Specifications 4203/97, [Class 12, Bearings &c.], and 14828/12 are referred to.
