263,455. Libani, R. March 30, 1926, [Convention date]. Boat-raising &c. gear.- Arrangements for lowering life-boats of the general charaster described in Specification 242,169 comprise spaced athwartship downwardly - inclined tracks 20 supported by stancheons 1 and having hinged outboard extensions 2 which can be moved into alignment with the main track when necessary. A wheeled trolly runs on the track, the falls 6 attached to the boat passing over the trolly wheels and fairleads 7 to a winch provided with a brake. The release of the brake causes the trolly to descend the track to carry the boat to an outboard position where the trolly is arrested by the hooked ends of the track extension. The boat may then be lowered to the water. Arrangements to prevent the descent of the boat relatively to the track during the outboard movement of the trolly comprise ropes 9 secured to the boat terminating in ringed ends which are passed over fingers 11 pivoted at 12 on a member 13 carried by the trolly and integral with a lever arm 14 terminating on a roller 15 which during the outboard motion of the trolly runs on and is held up by a second track. When the trolly arrives at its outboard position, the lever 14 leaves the track and allows the finger to rotate on its pivots and cast off the ropes 9.
