Abstract

261,917. Fischer, H. Nov. 28, 1925. Copy-holders.-Relates to copy-holders of the kind having a sliding lineindicator adapted to be operated from a distance. The line-indicating bar 21, Fig. 1, is connected to a carrier 18, which slides on a hollow rail 14, secured at one side of the copy-holding plate 1, and containing an axially movable screw spindle 27, Fig. 2. The threads of the spindle engage a pawl 25, pivoted to the carrier 18, which can thereby be depressed step by step. The spindle is moved downwards against spring pressure by means of a Bowden wire 37 connected to a key 44, an adjustable stop 32 being provided for varying the movements of the spindle and of the lineindicator. The plate 1 is carried by a lazy-tongs arm 6 from a bracket 7, which is adjustably held in a clamp 10. The indicating-bar is pivotally mounted on an arm 20 pivoted to the carrier 18, so that it can maintain itself parallel with the plate 1. The copy is held at the top by a spring arm 47, and at the bottom by a rule 3, which swings about a vertical axis 4. Brackets 2 serve to receive a bar over which a copybook may be suspended.
