Abstract
260,554. Wilsdorf, H., (Assignee of Perregaux, P., and Perret, G.). Oct. 30, 1925,. [Convention date]. Keyless mechanism comprises a watch case rim 1 carrying a plug 3 having a left-hand screw-thread to coact with arm internal lefthand thread 15 on the winding knob 8. This knob carries studs 9, 10, the inner ends of which move in axial grooves 11, 12 in a member 6 attached to the winding stem 4. A spring 14 tends to separate the knob 8 and member 6. 16 is a packing ring. When the knob is depressed and turned left-hand (as seen in plan) it is screwed down tight on to the ring 16, forming a dust-proof joint. For winding or setting the knob is unscrewed from the plug 3, the ends of the studs 9, 10 moving up the slots 11, 12. The plug 3 may be screwed or soldered to the rim 1 or may be a driving fit; the member 6 may be attached in any way to the stem 4 or may be integral therewith. Also, the left-hand thread 15 may be external on the knob 8, which then would screw direct into the casing rim or into the pendant,
