Sliding-clasp fastenings.-A flexible fastener is operated by a slider having fore and back plates formed with internal lug-engaging grooves, the upper edges of the plates being recessed between the central longitudinal post and the outwardly flaring wings containing the diverging parts of the grooves to control the fastener without interference with the slider plates. Each fastener is provided with shoulders 15, which run in diverging grooves 25 in a slider composed of fore and back plates 21, 20, and the engaging end of each fastener consists of a forked hook 13. The slider, composed of plates 20, 21 recessed at 30 and provided with diverging grooves, can be locked in position by a bifurcated detent 45 on a latching plate 38, and is thereby pressed between the fasteners to engage them. The plate 38 is hinged to a plate 35 swivelling on the slider and carrying a spring lip 40 engaging a hole in the plate 38 to secure it in position.
