Abstract

Described is a garment (1) comprising a figure of eight shaped breast support (3) comprising a first loop (10), a second loop (20) and a contact region (4) between the first loop (10) and the second loop (20), wherein the first loop (10) is for supporting a left breast, and wherein the second loop (20) is for supporting a right breast.

Claims

1. A garment comprising a figure of eight shaped breast support comprising a first loop, a second loop and a contact region between the first loop and the second loop, wherein the first loop is for supporting a left breast, and wherein the second loop is for supporting a right breast.

2. A garment according to any preceding claim, wherein the first loop has a size and shape to support a wearerâ s left breast and wherein the second loop has a size and shape to support a wearerâ s right breast, and/or wherein in use, the first loop is positioned around a wearerâ s left breast and wherein the second loop is positioned around a wearerâ s right breast, and/or wherein the figure of eight shaped breast support is contoured to fit against a wearerâ s left breast and right breast.

3. A garment according to any preceding claim, wherein the breast support is formed from an elongate material, and/or wherein the breast support comprises/is a band.

4. A garment according to any preceding claim, wherein the breast support crosses over itself at the contact region.

5. A garment according to any preceding claim, wherein the breast support comprises a first member and a second member, wherein the first member and the second member form the first loop and the second loop, preferably wherein the first member and the second member cross over at the contact region.

6. A garment according to claim 5, wherein the first member is S-shaped and the second member is S-shaped.

7. A garment according to claim 5 or 6, wherein at the contact region, the first member is arranged outer of the second member, and/or wherein the first loop is larger than the second loop.

A garment according to any of claims 5 to 7, wherein the first member comprises a first upper arc above the contact region and a first lower arc below the contact region and wherein the second member comprises a second upper arc above the contact region and a second lower arc below the contact region.

A garment according to claim 8, wherein the first loop comprises the first upper arc of the first member and the second lower arc of the second member and the second loop comprises the second upper arc of the second member and the first lower arc of the first member, and/or wherein the first lower arc is longer than the second upper arc, and wherein the second lower arc is longer than the first upper arc.

A garment according to claim 9, wherein the upper angle between the first upper arc and the second upper arc at the contact region is in the range of about 55° to about 80°, preferably in the range of about 60° to about 75° and/or wherein the lower angle between the first lower arc and the second lower arc at the contact region is in the range of about 40° to about 85°, preferably in the range of about 50° to about 75°.

11. A garment according to any preceding claim, wherein the width of the breast support reduces at the contact region, preferably wherein the width of the breast support tapers towards the contact region.

12. A garment according to any preceding claim, wherein the first loop comprises a first aperture and wherein the second loop comprises a second aperture.

13. A garment according to any of claims 5 to 12, wherein the first member and the second member are attached by a join in the contact region, preferably wherein the join comprises stitching, a weld, an adhesive or a combination of two or more thereof, preferably stitching.

14. A garment according to claim 13, wherein the join extends between an upper contact point and a lower contact point of the first member and the second member, preferably wherein the join is a substantially vertical join.

15. A garment according to any preceding claim, wherein, in use, the contact region is substantially positioned at a wearerâ s intermammary cleft.

16. A garment according to any preceding claim, further comprising an underband, preferably wherein the breast support is attached to the underband.

17. A garment according to any preceding claim, further comprising an outer layer, preferably wherein the outer layer is sized and shaped to support a wearerâ s breasts.

18. A garment according to claim 17, wherein the outer layer comprises a plurality of elements arranged to form a shaped surface, preferably wherein the plurality of elements form a shaped surface around each of a wearerâ s left breast and a wearerâ s right breast, preferably wherein the plurality of elements are arranged to form a convex shaped surface around each of a wearerâ s left breast and a wearerâ s right breast.

19. A garment according to claim 17 or 18, wherein the outer layer is attached to the breast support and/or the underband.

20. A garment according to any preceding claim, further comprising one or more straps, preferably two straps, for positioning the garment on a wearer, preferably wherein the two straps form a cross back, and/or further comprising a back fastening, preferably an adjustable back fastening.

21. A garment according to any preceding claim, wherein the garment is a breast support garment, preferably a sports bra, a bra, an item of swimwear or a camisole, preferably a sports bra or an item of swimwear.

22. A garment according to any preceding claim, wherein the garment is a sports bra .

23. A figure of eight shaped breast support comprising a first loop, a second loop and a contact region between the first loop and the second loop, wherein the first loop is for supporting a left breast, and wherein the second loop is for supporting a right breast.

24. A figure of eight shaped breast support according to claim 23, further comprising one or more features of any of claims 2 to 14.

25. A garment, a breast support, a pattern for a garment or a pattern for a breast support substantially as described herein with reference to figure 1 A to figure 8.
