Abstract

259,231. Maschinenfabrik Oerlikon. Oct. 2, 1925, [Convention date]. Transformers. - In a hollow lead-in insulator provided interiorly with a protective transformer, the core 6 for the secondary winding 7 is disposed about the conductors, and extends axially on both sides beyond the external earthed mount 5 with which it is connected. In the construction shown, the insulator consists of two tubular members 1, 2 clamped together by rings 3 and packing rings 4. The mount 5 which carries the transformer core 6 forms, in conjunction with the rings 3 the support for the insulator. The ends 7' of the secondary winding 7 are passed through one packing ring. A metal cylinder 8 screens the secondary winding electrically from the lead-in conductor 9. The cavity in the insulator may be filled with a. fluid insulating material 10, such as oil, and an insulating tube 11 surrounding the conductor 9 may be used.
