Abstract

258,664. Williams, W. H. June 25, 1925. Fiston apparatus for discharging receptacles.- The delivery pipe of a grease gun &c. comprises a number of short lengths d, e, f of rigid tubing connected to each other by swivel joints, the, ends of the composite tube being connected respectively to the gun and a delivery nozzle c by rotatable or sleeve joints. The pipes d., e are connected by a single swivel joint, Fig. 3, comprising a conduit g into which a tube j is screwed, and a conduit q into which a nut k is screwed, the nut having a recess with a conical bottom in which a collar n is mounted and soldered to the tube j. A spring m forces the nut against the lower end of the collar n. The pipes e and f are connected by a double swivel joint, Fig. 4, comprising two joints of the kind shown in Fig. 3 arranged at right angles. The pipe f is connected to the nozzle c and the pipe d to the end b of the gun by a sleeve joint, Fig. 5, comprising a thimble v screwed on the end of the tube f and carrying a tube u surrounded by a. sleeve u screwed into the nozzle c and having a recess with a conical bottom in which a collar x is mounted and soldered to the tube u. In an. other form of joint, a tubular liner carries a conical head which is pressed against a seat by a spring.
