Abstract

A pressurised aerosol container containing a single refrigerant type propellant, the gaseous phase of which can be drawn off by one valve 3, the other valve 12 drawing off the liquid content of the container. Preferably, the gas and liquid can be drawn off separately. The gas and liquid may be drawn off simultaneously. One valve (20, fig 2) may be attached to a bag or pouch, the contents of which are preferably not in contact with the gaseous propellant. The propellant exerts pressure on the bag causing the contents to flow through the valve when the actuator or nozzle is depressed. In this embodiment the gaseous propellent may be drawn off by the second valve (14, fig 2). The actuators preferably have different spray patterns that may operate, separately or simultaneously, regardless of the orientation of the actuators.

Description

DESCRIPTION
FiG 1 shows an aerosol device functioning as an alarm deterrent having two valves and two actuate actuators One actuator (12) discharges a fluid carrying a foul odour whilst the other to when depressed draws off a gaseous propellant and its function is to emit a shrill sound intended to scare a potential The two valves are mounted ors a srngte container which holds reefrigerant type propellant and a DNA and odorou d. The valves have different tube lengths which enables gas from the propellant phase to be discharged only through the valve having a short dip tube whilst the other valve discharges the fluid content. ey having one propellant, one canister and two outlet valves we can produce a dual function product instead of two single function products, reducing manufacturing costs and carrying spec The valve which controls the odorous liquid or DNA has a fail Ia and it has a ball insert which ensures that only lidu passes through th th dip tube (15) valve whatever poaltlbn the valve is in. If the body is held vertical with he tower actuator supported and a downward force is applied to the upper actuator (3) there will automatically be a discharge through both valves which makes it suitable as a security device (with many applications such as a door entry alarm, This dual discharge faci its, can he f ither exploited (FIG 2) by having one valve fitted with a bag Ii containing a water based liquid thus separating the refrigerant propellant from the water. The propellant occupies the remaining space in the canister and it exerts pressure on the bag and hence discharges the content within it The second valve (14) would be used for discharging the gaseous propellant to produce a shrill sound.
Flit 3' sh valve canis valves are fitted 6 ctuaters single jet and a) pray, Figures 14 are all able to discharge from two different valves mounted on one ct thus creating material and manufacturing savings and a smaller single product than that which would otherwise be achieved.
