Abstract

A telescopic sun room having a plurality of arched leafs 200/300, wherein at least some of the leafs are moveable 300 and have wheels 500 located on a pair of spaced apart tracks 100 on which the moveable leafs can slide between a collapsed configuration, in which smaller leafs are nested within larger leaves, and an extended configuration (see Figure 3) in which the plurality of leafs form an enclosed area, each leaf having glass panels, the apparatus also including a motor with a drive mechanism and gearbox for moving the leafs between the collapsed and extended configurations. Each leaf may have a metal frame of girders 310 and cross beams 320. Also described is a windproof hook 800 and groove 600 system for reducing risk of wheels dislodging from track. The motor mechanism may have a moveable shaft/gear (420, Fig.9) for decoupling the motor. The room may stand alone, or may form an enclosure adjacent a wall of a building (see Figures 4 and 5).
