Combined open fireplaces and cooking stoves; boilers, arrangement of. - The invention comprises constructional features designed to facilitate manufacture and removal or replacement of various parts of combination stoves. The various elements are erected on a base-plate a, Fig. 4, provided with upstanding ribs or with slots to position them; that shown being formed with an outer rib or flange a<1>, a<10> for locating the rear and side members, and flanges a<2>, a<3>, a<4> between which and the outer flanges are retained the rear and side firebrick linings c, c<1> of the fireplace. A grate f of the " stool " type is supported on legs f<1>, and beneath it is an ashpan f<2> mounted on runners f<3> on the base-plate. A boiler n is supported on the rear firebrick c, which is cut away at c<3> to form a flue. The base-plate may be supported on flanges in the brickwork setting, in order to form a hot-closet beneath it. The top plate i and the plate k below the oven are slidably mounted between inwardly-extending flanges h<2> on the side walls, so that they may be removed from the front of the stove. The back plate i is secured to flanges h<1> on the side walls, and may thus be removed without unsetting the side plates. The fall bar g has a wide edge g<2> which in the raised position forms an extension of the hot-plate.
