Abstract

255,878. Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Allen, R. C.). July 24, 1925, [Convention date]. Blades. - A row or segment of blades 11 are lashed together by a wire 14 extending through holes 12 in the blades and by diagonal braces 16 which connect points of adjacent blades at different distances from the roots of the blades. The lashing-members are of semicircular cross-section so as to fill the holes 12, 13 when they are bent back on themselves or used jointly. They are secured by soldering or brazing. Two continuous lashing-wires 21, 22, Fig. 4, may be applied to the blades, diagonal braces 23 being interposed between adjacent blades. Fig. 5 shows another method of applying the lashing- members 26, 24, 29. Two series of diagonal braces may be used, one on either side of a continuous lashing-wire, three series of holes being provided in the blades.
