Abstract
A process for depositing a transparent coating comprising a metal oxide on a substrate, the process comprising, providing a soda lime silica glass substrate having a surface, providing a precursor mixture comprising a source of a metal and a source of an oxidising anion,at least partially atomizing the precursor mixture, and delivering the precursor mixture to the surface of the substrate, wherein the surface of the substrate is at a substrate temperature sufficient for deposition of the metal oxide coating on the surface. The preferred metal oxides are tin, copper, iron, zinc, indium or antimony and the preferred oxidising anion is nitrate or nitrite.
