Abstract

255,128. Vickers, Ltd., Gray, P., W., and Taylor, E. W. March 12, 1925. Telescope systems. - Gun-sighting telescopes. adapted to give a magnified and erect image, as distinct from the Aldis sight, giving unit magnification, is provided with three simple or achromatic lenses, in addition to the eyepiece. These lenses are so disposed that the posterior focal' point of the first lens A coincides with the anterior focal point of the second lens B and the second and third lenses B, C are similarly arranged. The first two lenses A, B may be in a holder separate from that of the third lens C and the eyepiece D. The graticule may be fitted in the focal plane of the eyepiece D. By arranging the telescope so that the anterior focal point of the front lens coincides with the centre of a small hole in protective armour, the full field of view may be obtained through such small hole.
