Abstract

253,858. Hinzer & Co. Fabrik f³r Elektrische Apparate Ges., H. June 19, 1925, [Convention date]. Grips, sliding-wedge type.-Cables are secured in mine shafts by holders secured to the wall and carrying wedges for retaining the cable. In one form, Fig. 1, the holder 3 has lugs 4 for attachment to the wall and a conical or tapered groove fitted with a pair of semi-conical or wedge-shaped wood blocks 2 for gripping the cable 1. In another form, Fig. 6, a member with grooves 7 is secured to the wall and a separate member 6 is attached thereto by flanges 8 sliding in the grooves 7. The member 8 carries the wedges 2 for securing the cable. When suspending the cable, the holders are placed with the wedges opposed, Fig. 8, to prevent lateral movement of the cable.
