Abstract

The sealing strip housing 11, for assembly in a U-shaped door groove, is formed from an alloy or plastics material, and comprises side walls 12 having an interconnecting connection web 13. At least one side wall has an inwardly chamfered face 14 near the region of the web so that the width of the housing at that end is reduced, which allows for an easier fit into the groove of a door. Both side walls may have the slanted edge, and an end of a side wall with an angled face may also be curved 16. The connection web may be recessed so that two projections (27, Fig.6) can form a void between the web and a door groove. The sealing strip housing may also include two protruding internal webs 19 and a receiving groove 20 to enable the housing to be fastened in the door recess.

Description

Sealing strip housing of a door sealing system The invention relates to a sealing strip housing of a door sealing system for assembly in a U-shaped door groove of a door, said sealing strip housing being from an alloy or plastics profile having side walls which face the groove walls of the door groove, and having a connection web which faces the groove base of the door groove and interconnects the side walls.
Such a sealing strip housing is known for a variety of door sealing systems such as for the door sealing system DE 20 2014 101 304 Ul, wherein these sealing strip housings typically have side walls which are disposed in a perpendicular manner on the connection webs, such that said sealing strip housings may only be assembled in a U-shaped door groove in the end side of a door while using a high level of concentration, the width of the door groove being identical to the width of the sealing strip housing. As an alternative auxiliary means, the external edges of the door groove have to be heavily chamfered or be configured so as to have separate introduction chamfers, on account of which more complex tools are required and more material of a door has to be removed in a subtractive manner than would really be required in order for the sealing strip housing to be installed.
It is an object of the invention to provide a sealing strip housing which enables more economical manufacturing of a door equipped with a door sealing system, and the sealing strip housing of which door sealing system is able to be assembled in a simplified manner in a door groove machined into the end side of a door.
This object is achieved in conjunction with the features of the preamble of the first patent claim by way of interaction with the characterizing features thereof in particular in that at least one side wall in the region of the connection web, while forming an introduction chamfer, has an inwardly chamfered face, and the width of the sealing housing in the region of the connection web in relation to the width of the latter is reduced.
On account thereof, a chamber-bevel or an introduction chamfer in a door groove becomes superfluous, since such an introduction chamfer now is moulded directly on the sealing strip housing, without this sealing strip housing having to be modified or limited in terms of the functioning thereof in order for such an introduction chamfer to be implemented.
The sealing strip housing per se is imparted additional reinforcement here in a particularly simple manner and likewise a saving in materials which, while minor, is nevertheless significant in view of the multiplicity of sealing strip housings to be manufactured.
Further advantageous design embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are derived from and in conjunction with the further dependent claims.
In order for assembly to be additionally simplified, at least one side wall, in that region of the end side thereof that faces the groove base, can furthermore be equipped with an introduction radius, such that even in the case of embodiments of door grooves having very sharp rectangular profile edges on the end sides thereof, significant simplification results during assembly.
According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the subject matter of the inventive sealing strip housing, both side walls in the region of the connection web are provided with introduction chamfers and with additional introduction radii, such that the sealing strip housing which is composed of alloy or plastics, along the vertical axis thereof, is configured in a mirror-symmetrical manner and may be positioned in a door groove in a bias-free manner, without assembly errors potentially arising here.
In a further preferred embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, the connection web in relation to the end sides of the side walls of the profile of the sealing strip housing and to the groove base is configured so as to be recessed, as a result of which two hump strips which extend in the direction of the groove base with a void created therebetween are formed. This construction additionally reinforces the sealing strip housing, and the void created likewise facilitates assembly of the sealing strip housing in the sense that any shavings which may potentially protrude from the groove base of the door groove do not impede the correct fit of the sealing strip housing in the door groove, since only the hump strips bear on the groove base and said hump strips by way of increased contact pressure per unit area are able to suppress potentially protruding shavings in a more simple manner.
In a further preferred embodiment of the inventive sealing strip housing, within the sealing housing, from the internal side of the connection web, the adjacent internal sides of the side walls, and two protruding internal webs, a receiving groove for a stop angle for fastening the sealing strip housing in a door groove, which is to be introduced at the end side into the sealing strip housing, is provided on both sides, wherein such a stop angle, on account of the comparatively narrow design embodiment of the sealing housing in the region of the connection web thereof, may also be embodied so as to be comparatively narrow and further material may thus be saved.
Three exemplary embodiments of the invention will be described in more detail hereunder by means of the drawings in which: Fig. 1 shows a partial sectional view of a sealing strip housing; Fig. 2 shows an enlarged partial view of the sealing strip housing according to Fig. 1; Fig. 3 shows a view of a further sealing strip housing; Fig. 4 shows an enlarged partial view of the sealing strip housing according to Fig. 3; Fig. 5 shows a view of a third sealing strip housing; and Fig. 6 shows an enlarged partial view of the sealing strip housing according to Fig. 5.
The sealing strip housing 1; 11; 21 is composed of a profile which at least on the outside is U-shaped, having two mutually opposite side walls 2; 12; 22, and a connection web 3; 13; 23 which connects said side walls 2; 12; 22, wherein the side walls 2; 12; 22 in the region of the connection web 3; 13; 23 are in each case provided with introduction chamfers 4; 14; 24 which at an angle f3 taper off in the direction of the connection web 3; 13; 23.
The side walls 2; 12; 22 of the sealing housing 1; 11; 21, in the region of the end sides 5; 15; 25 thereof which are adjacent to the connection web 3; 13; 23, are provided with introduction radii 6; 16; 26, on account of which assembly of a sealing strip housing 1; 11; 21 in the door groove of a door equipped therewith is further simplified. As opposed to the sealing strip housing 1 of Figs. 1 and 2, the sealing strip housings 11; 21 of Figs. 3 to 6 on the internal sides of the side walls 12; 22 in the region of the connection webs 13; 23 of the sealing strip housings 11; 21 are in each case provided with two protruding internal webs 19; 29 which together with the internal side of the connection web 13; 23 form on both sides an end-side receiving groove 20; 30 for a stop angle for fastening the sealing strip housing 11; 21 in a door groove. As is shown in particular in Fig. 5, the construction of the introduction chamfers 4; 14; 24 is entirely independent of the design embodiment of the sealing profile 7 and of the mounting profile 8 thereof.
As furthermore opposed to the sealing strip housing 1; 11 of Figs. 1 to 4, the sealing strip housing 21 of Figs. 5 and 6 is equipped with a connection web 23 which in relation to the end sides 25 of the side walls 22 is inwardly offset, on account of which two parallel hump strips 27 which extend in the direction towards a groove base and have a void 28 lying therebetween are formed, further simplifying assembly of the sealing strip housing 21, since splinters which may protrude from the groove base do not have to be pushed back during assembly of the sealing strip housing 21 from the latter onto the groove base.
