Description

Attachment Device for Attaching a Child Seat to a Seat System of a Vehicle The invention relates to an attachment device for attaching a child seat to a seat system of a vehicle according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
Such attachment devices for attaching a child seat to a seat system of a vehicle, in particular a passenger vehicle, are well known from the general prior art, for example, under the name of ISOFIX. The attachment device allows for a very easy, comfortable and fast attachment and detachment of the child seat. The ISOFIX attachment device is also known under the name of LATCH, under the name of LUAS, under the name of Canf ix or under the name of UCSSS: Further, the ISOFIX attachment device is standardised according to ISO 13216. Such an attachment device comprises at least one attachment element assigned to the seat system. In order to attach the child seat to the seat system, the attachment element is capable of being non-destructively detachably connected to at least one holding element of the child seat. Thus, the child seat can be attached to and detached from the attachment element without using any tool.
However, the attachment element of the attachment device can be seen, for example, by passengers being in the vehicle. Hence, the design of the interior of the vehicle is impaired.
DE 100 62 963 Al discloses a seat of a motor vehicle, the seat comprising a seat part and a back rest part. In the seat, at least one recess is formed, the recess is capable of being closed by a filling element. This seat has a very complicated and thus uncomfortable usability, because the filling element can be lost and has to be moved into and out of the recess in a very impractical way.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to further develop an attachment device of the aforementioned kind such that an impairment of interior design of the vehicle can be avoided and such that the attachment device can be used in a very easy and
comfortable way.
This object is achieved by an attachment device having the features of patent claim 1.
Advantageous embodiments with expedient and non-trivial developments of the invention are indicated in the other patent claims.
In order to create an attachment device of the kind indicated in the preamble of patent claim 1 which has a very easy and comfortable usability which does not impair the interior design of the vehicle, the attachment device comprises according to the present invention at least one base element bounding a receptacle for the holding element of the seat system at least partially. Further, the attachment device comprises at least one cover element held on the base element. The cover element is movable relative to the base element between a covering position and at least one uncovering position. In the covering position, the attachment element is, in particular completely, covered by the cover element. In the uncovering position, the attachment element at least partially is uncovered by the cover element so that the holding element of the child seat can be non-destructively detachably connected to the attachment element.
On the one hand, the attachment element of the attachment device can be covered by the cover element so that the interior design of the vehicle is not impaired by the attachment element, because the attachment element is not visible to passengers being in the vehicle. On the other hand, the cover element can be moved between its covering position and its uncovering position in a very easy and comfortable way because it is held both in the covering position and in the uncovering position on the base element. Hence, the cover element cannot be lost. Moreover, the said advantages of the present invention can be realised in a very cost-effective way.
Further advantages, features and details of the invention derive from the following description of a preferred embodiment and from the drawing. The features and feature combinations set out in the description and the features and feature combinations set out in the description of the figures and/or displayed alone in the figures below can be used not only in the respectively indicated combination but also in other combinations alone without leaving the scope of the invention.
The drawing shows in: Fig. 1 Part of a schematic and perspective view of a seat system of a vehicle, the seat system being equipped with an attachment device for attaching a child seat to the seat system, the attachment device comprising one attachment clement assigned to the seat system, a base element bounding a receptacle, and comprising a cover element held on the base element, the cover element being movable relative to the base element between the covering position and at least one uncovering position; Fig. 2 Part of a schematic and perspective view of the seat system, the cover element being positioned in its uncovering position; Fig. 3 A schematic isometric view of the attachment device; and Figs. 4a-c respectively a schematic sectional view of the attachment device with the cover element being in respective positions.
In the Figures same elements having the same function are equipped with the same reference signs.
Figs. 1 and 2 show in a respective schematic and perspective view a seat system 10 of a vehicle, for example, of a passenger vehicle. The seat system 10 may be a rear seating mounted within the interior of the passenger vehicle in an area for rear passengers. The seat system 10 comprises a seat part 12 having a cushion which is covered by a seat cover 14 of the seat part 12. The seat system 10 also comprises a back rest 16 which follows the seat part 12 in the vertical direction of the passenger vehicle upwards.
As can be seen from Figs. 1 and 2, the seat system 10 is equipped with an attachment device 18. The attachment device 18 serves for attaching a child seat 21 to the seat system 10 in a very easy, fast and comfortable way. For this purpose, the attachment device 18, as can be seen from over a view of Figs. la-c, comprises an attachment element in the form of a bracket 20 which is assigned to the seat system 10.
The attachment device 18 also comprises a holding element 22 which, as can be seen from Fig. 2, is assigned to the child seat 21. The holding element 22 is attached to the child seat 21 and can be non-destructively detachably connected to the bracket 20. In other words, for attaching the child seat 21 to the seat system 10. the bracket 20 (attachment element) is capable of being non-destructively detachably connected to the holding element 22 of the child seat 21. Thereby, a fixture of the child seat 21 to the seat system 10 can be realised so that, for example, in the case of a crash the child seat 21 can be restrained and, thus, can be secured against a movement due to the crash.
The attachment device 18 is preferably configured as a quick fastening system so that the child system can be attached to and detached from the seat system 10 in a very fast and easy way.
As can be seen from Fig. 3, the attachment device 18 comprises a base element in the form of a first cover element 23 by means of which a receptacle in the form of a through opening 24 is bounded. In the circumferential direction of the trough opening 24, the through opening 24 is bounded completely all around. The first cover element 23 is made of a plastic material and is at least partially inserted into an opening of the seat part 12.
The first cover element 23 covers wall areas of the seat part 12, the wall areas bounding the opening into which the first cover element 23 is at least partially inserted.
The attachment device 18 further comprises a second cover element in the form of a flap 26. The flap 26 is held on the base element. As can be seen from an overall view of Figs. 4a-c, the flap 26 is movable relative to the first cover element 23 between a covering position shown in Fig. 4a and an uncovering position shown in Fig. 4c. Fig. 4b shows a middle position of the flap 26 between of the covering position and the uncovering position.
In the covering position, the bracket 20 is covered completely towards the interior of the passenger vehicle by the flap 26. In the uncovering position, the bracket 20 is at least partially uncovered by the flap 26 so that the holding element 22 can be moved into the through opening 24 in order to connect the holding element 22 to the bracket 20.
As can be seen from Figs. 4a-c, the flap 26 is movable both pivotably and translationally between the covering position and the uncovering position. Moreover, the flap 26 is capable of being moved from the covering position to the uncovering position upon the movement of the holding element 22 into and through the through opening 24. In order to connect the holding element 22 to the bracket 20, the holding element 22 is pushed through the through opening 24 so that the bracket 20 is inserted into a receptacle 28 of the holding element 22. By inserting the bracket 20 into the receptacle 28, the child seat 21 can be attached to the attachment device 18 and thus to the seat system 10.
The attachment device 18 comprises a spring element 30 which on the one side is supported on the first cover element 23 and which on the other side is supported on the flap 26. When moving the flap 26 from its covering position to its uncovering position, the spring element 30 is loaded so that the flap 26 is movable from the uncovering position back to the uncovering position by means of the loaded spring element 30, wherein the spring element 30 relaxes at least partially when moving the flap 26 form its uncovering position back to the covering position.
The spring element 30 is mounted on the first cover element 23 by means of a first pin 32 which engages in respective receptacles of the spring element 30 and of the first cover element 23. Further, the spring element 30 is mounted on the flap 26 by means of a second pin 34, which engages in respective receptacles of the spring element 30 and of lateral tongues arranged on the flap 26. This spring element 30 also bears against the flap 26 via a supporting portion 36 of the spring element 30.
The attachment device 18 also comprises guiding elements. A first one of said guiding element is a third pin 38. Second ones of said guiding elements are configured as guiding slots 39 arranged on the first cover element 23. The third pin 38 engages in receptacles of lateral tongues 40 arranged on the flap 26 whereby the third pin 38 is assigned to and held on the flap 26. Moreover, the third pin 38 engages in the respective lateral guiding slots 39 and is slidable along the respective lateral guiding slots 39. Thereby the flap 26 is guided along the guiding slots 39 by means of the third pin 38 during the movement between the covering position and the uncovering position.
As can be seen from an overall view of Fig. 2 and Figs. 4a-c, the flap 26 is capable of being moved from the covering position to the uncovering position upon the movement of the holding element 22 through the through opening 24. In other words, when the holding element 22 is moved through the through opening 24, firstly, it bares against the flap 26.
When the holding element 22 is moved further, the movement of the flap 26 is effected by the holding element 22 wherein the flap 26 with a first portion 42 moves outwards and with a first portion 44 moves inwards relative to the first cover element 23. During this movement the flap 26 is guided by the third pin 38 and by the guiding slots 39. Further, during this movement the spring element 30 is loaded. When the holding element 22 is attached to the bracket 20. the flap 26 in its uncovering position bears against the holding element 22 and, thus, is held in the uncovering position.
When the holding element is pulled out of the through opening 24 again, the spring element 30 relaxes at least partially and thereby moves the flap 26 until the flap 26 reaches its covering position again. Thereby, a complicated manual movement of the flap 26 can be avoided, thus, the attachment device 18 has a very easy and comfortable usability.
