Abstract

A sleep suit, suitable for babies, includes fastening means between the arms and body, and between the legs, so that during sleep the limbs of the baby may be immobilized, securing them in a swaddle- like position. The fastening means may be zip fasteners which are quick and easy to open and/or close, allowing feeding, changing and winding of the babies.

Description

Baby Sleep-tight Swaddle Suit -Invention Desaiption for PsntApplication A sleep suit (baby grow) made from slightly stronger/thicker material than standard suits that acts -like a swaddle without complicated wtapping techniques.
Following the simple design of a standard sleep suit (feet enclosed/poppers to bsten etc) the suit would be modified to include zip up fasteners between the arm and body, and the legs This would allow the baby to have arms and legs free during feeding and nappy changes, however the parent can quickly and easily fasten the zips when placing baby back into their cot/moses basket to limit their involuntary movement during sleep.
This design maintains the swaddle position without risk of the baby wriggling' free.
The design limits interference with the baby's sleep as there is no complicated wrapping technique and the parents can easily breastfeed or bottle-feed and wind the baby in a comfortable position without the need to manoeuvre the baby too much.
Research into possible breathable materials will be required.
There is currently no swaddle product on the market that provides the parent with the advantages of a secure swaddle position that can be undone and redone in a few seconds without causing unnecessary interference to the baby From being a parent, personal experience and research with other parents has highlighted the common problem being the involuntary ann movement, however no current UK product provides a solution.
Using potential variations in thickness/design/size would allow the parent to do away with a number of products (sleep suits/swaddles/growbags/blanlcets) and replace with just one -the Baby Sleep-tight Swaddle Suit.
