Transformers.-For the protection of the electrically stressed corners of the insulation of transformers in which insulating cylinders d having integrally formed or separate flanges e, f between the windings b, c, metal coatings g extending round the cylinders at these points are provided. The coatings may be disposed either on the inside or outside or on both sides of the cylinders, and the surface may be so dimensioned as to distribute the potential within the assembly to give a uniform potential drop.
