Abstract

249,924. Armstrong, Whitworth, & Co., Ltd., Sir W. G., Lee, H. W., and Grant, W. Jan. 1, 1925. Mountings.-A gun 10 is detachably secured to a platform 11 trunnioned at 17 in the upper end of a socket 16 which is trainable on a vertical pivot 18 and which has an extension 20 supporting the training worm 19 and the elevating nut 210. The enlarged lower part of the training pivot 18 has teeth engaging the worm 19, the worm shaft being hinged to the socket at 190 for quick disengagement. The worm shaft is clamped in its operative and inoperative, positions by a wing nut 191. The gun is connected to the platform by detachable pins 12, 13 passing through registering lugs on the gun and platform and the pin 13 also passes through the upper end of the elevating screw 211. The platform carries a bracket 14 for supporting the ammunition box. Specification 8318/10 is referred to.
