Abstract

249,262. Jones, J. Jan. 23, 1925. Boat - launching apparatus. - Ships are provided with submarine vessels for use as lifeboats. Means for launching the submarines from the vessel comprise inclined railed tracks 4 formed in the interior of the ship terminating in door 10 which when open is in alignment with the track 4. The submarines mav be stowed on tiltable, platforms 8 which may be turned into alignment with the tank 4. Rollers 3 are provided on the submarines and certain of the rollers may be driven from the propelling unit, or pinions on the submarines may engage with racks on the track.
