Abstract
249,175. Ramsden, W. L. Aug. 19, 1925. Feedwater, supplying.-In steam loop apparatus for returning water of condensation to the boiler, a vessel is connected as a by-pass in the drop-leg of the loop, and its upper end is connected to the ascending pipe of the loop. A float within the vessel controls a valve admitting boiler steam to discharge accumulated water into the boiler. A vessel f is connected by way of valved pipes g, h with the drop-leg e of the steam loop, the upper end of the vessel being connected bv a pipe l with the ascending steam pipe b. A float i actuates a valve k in the pipe l. When the head of condensed water is insufficient for it to gravitate into the boiler, a valve n between the pipes g, h is closed by the rising water which collects in the vessel f. The steam valve k being opened upon the float rising a non-return valve m is closed and pressure equilibrium is established, condensed water being discharged into the boiler.
