Abstract

A stand alone transportation carriage unit to transport a child in a standing position while they are wheeled along by a parent or carer comprises a foot stand F, back or arm supports C, a handle A and safety legs D,G. The shaft B may be extendable and the arms, legs and foot strand may fold for ease of transportation.

Description

Description
Standing child transporter (Carry Me) This invention relates to a device for the carriage of a standing child not linked to a pushchair or other child carriage device.
As children age they often grow out of their pushchairs but still get tired easily when walking distances.
Currently the only options are to take a pushchair to sit them in just in case or carry them when they get tired.
There are devices which attach onto pushchairs allowing children to stand on them and be transported. There are also devices which allow children to sit on them to be transported. There is currently no stand alone device which allows transport of children in the standing position.
The Carry Me consists of an arm and handle which may or may not be retractable. Towards the ground there is a platform for the child to stand upon. Wheels allow the unit to be moved. There is some form of back support and lateral support for the child.
There are safety devices/stabilising arms to prevent the unit falling over backwards or forwards.
These may be folded away for ease of carriage.
The foot and back supports may be folded for ease of carriage.
The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows the image of the "carry me" from the side in its collapsed form. The handle (A) is clearly seen. The shaft (B) is extendable. The supporting arms (C) are folded forward for ease of transport. The rear safety arm (D) is folded in. The wheels (E) on which the device/child will be propelled are at the bottom of the device.
Figure 2 shows the image of the "carry me" from the front in its collapsed form. The handle (A) is clearly seen. The shaft (B) is extendable. The supporting arms (C) are folded forward for ease of transport. The wheels (E) on which the device/child will be propelled are at the bottom of the device. The foot plates (F) on which the child stands are folded up to the body for ease of transport.
Figure 3 shows image of the "carry me" from the side in its extended/for use form. The handle (A) is clearly seen. The shaft (B) is now extended. The supporting arms (C) are now folded out to offer support for the childs back. The rear safety arm (D) is now folded out to prevent the device from falling over backwards if it is left. The wheels (E) on which the device/child will be propelled are at the bottom of the device. The front safety arm (G) is now extended to prevent the device tipping over forwards.
Figure 4 shows image of the "carry me" from the front in its extended/for use form. The handle (A) is clearly seen. The shaft (B) is now extended. The supporting arms (C) are now folded out to offer support for the childs back. The wheels (E) on which the device/child will be propelled are at the bottom of the device. The front safety arm (G) is now extended to prevent the device tipping over forwards. The foot plates (F) on which the child stands are folded out to facilitate use.
Figure 5 shows the same profile as in figure 3 but with the outline of a child in position. There may or may not be safety straps or arm rests in place to support the child.
Figure 6 shows the same profile as in figure 4 but with the outline of a child in position.
