Abstract

The invention relates to an adjustable overhead shower rail bar assembly comprising of a double headed adjustable clamp 1, a rod 4 and a shower head holder 5. The assembly allows the user to adjust the shower head up, down, in, out and through a 90° arc. The double headed clamp 1 allows the assembly to be clamped onto an existing rail bar 3. The rod 4 is inserted through the clamp 1 at lb and the shower head holder 5 is screw clamped onto the same rod 4 at the opposite end. This allows the shower head to be inserted into the shower head holder 5, thereby allowing the shower head to supply water at the angle required.

Description

Adjustable Overhead Shower Rail Bar This invention relates to a device which enhances the adjustment of a showerhead unit When a person has a shower, which is situated over a bath, with a fixed showerhead holder, it is difficult to gain sufficient moisture on all parts of the body without turning around. In order to gain sufficient moisture on the body they have to turn around (due to the direction of water flow) to allow the water to reach all parts of the body or remove the shower head from the fixed holder, for example to rinse hair.
Conventional fixed showerhead units allow limited adjustment of the showerhead. To overcome this, the present invention turns the shower head into a fully adjustable overhead shower unit.
The advantages of the product include: 1) Not having to turn around whilst showering to get wet all over which can increase the likelihood of slipping 2) When facing one way only, one can grab the safety rail (which should be fitted) if starting to slip or slide and a saving of water and heat due to the fact the shower head does not have to be moved to rinse soap off body and hair An example of the invention will be described by referring to the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1. shows the components that go to make the invention work Figure 2. shows the invention in full working order The double headed adjustable clamp No 1 is attached to the vertical shower rail bar at the No 2 position, which allows clamp No la to move up or down the vertical shower rail bar No 3 to the height that is required. Rod No 4 passes through clamp lb which allows the rod No 4 to move up or down, back or forward and through an arc from the horizontal to the vertical and is then clamped in the required position, the shower head No S goes onto rod No 4 and is adjusted and screw locked, in the required position, the shower head No 6 is then placed in the shower head holder No 5 The shower is now ready for use with the water cascading from overhead or any water angle that is required.
