Abstract

A collapsible leg system for a sports table 100 comprises pivoting leg members 120 pivotally attached at their proximal ends to one end of the table for movement between an erect position and a folded position. A respective sliding leg member 130 is pivotally attached at its distal end 132 to each first leg member, and slidably attached at its proximal end to the table. Movement of the pivoting leg members towards the folded position causes the proximal ends of the sliding leg members to slide towards the ends of the table, whilst movement towards the erect position causes the sliding members to slide towards the middle of the table. The sliding and/or pivoting members may have locking or clamping means, e.g. screw locks 134. The table top may include guides 140 which engage with links on the sliding members. The guides may be arranged to retain the legs in the erect position and/or in the collapsed position. The sports table may be a snooker, pool, billiards, bar billiards, table football, or table hockey table. The arrangement allows the table to be erected and collapsed while the table top remains substantially horizontal.
