Description

CHILD SAFETY SEAT
Background of the Invention
I. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a child safety seat, and more particularly, to a child safety seat for reducing its total height by constraining height ratio ranges among structure parts of a seat and a base.
2. Description of the Prior Art
Generally speaking, to ensure safety of a child while traveling in a car, many countries have legislated there has to be a child safety seat installed in the car for securing the child.
Therefore, the child safety seat for protecting the children is often equipped with many safety designs. Except for the said safety designs, a bottom of the child safety seat is further equipped with a bottom auxiliary structure for providing a rotating function or an angle adjusting function in order to enhance convenience of the child safety seat in use. However, since a height between a rear seat and a roof of a car is limited (e.g. about between 800mm and 830mm), disposal of the said bottom auxiliary structure will make the child safety seat excessively high so that the child safety seat will be too close to the roof of the car. Accordingly, the said design will cause a user great inconvenience while assembling, dissembling or operating the child safety seat in the car.
Sumrriary of the Invent ion The present invention provides a child safety seat comprising a base and a seat connected to the base along a height direction of the base, wherein a ratio of a height of the base to a total height of the seat with the base is between 0.1 and 0.18.
These and other obj ectives i: the present. invention will no daubt become obvious to those of ordinary skill in the art after readinc Lhe following cieLailed description of the preferred embocinient, that is illustrated in Lhe various ficures and drawincs
Brief Description of the Drawings
FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of a child safety seat according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention.
FIG. 2 is a front view of the child safety seat in FIG. 1.
Detailed Descriction please refer to FIG. 1, which is a schematic diagram of a child safety seat 10 according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. The child safety seat 10 includes a base 12 and a seat 14. The base 12 includes a supporting body 16 and at least one sliding slot 18 (two shown in FIG. 1) . The sliding slot 18 is disposed on the supporting body 16 for cooperatively forming a sliding support that allows the seat 14 to slide thereon. The seat 14 includes a seat body and at least one rib structure 22 (two shown in FIG. 1) connected to a bottom of the seat body 20. The rib structure 22 is movab]y disposed in the corresponding sliding s]ot 18.
In other words, the seat body 20 can move forward and backward relative to the supporting body 16 by sliding motion of the rib structure 22 in the sliding slot 18, so as to adjust a reclining angle of the seat 14 relative to the base 12. As for the method for fixing the reclining angle of the seat 14 relative to the base 12, its related description will be omitted herein since the present invention adopts a positioning mechanism commonly seen in the prior art, such as utilizing a sliding pin of the seat to be engaged with one of a plurality of positioning slots of the base.
In this embodiment, the child safety seat 10 utilizes a design that the seat 14 is partially overlapped with the base 12 in a height direction of the base 12 and height ratios of structure parts of the base 12 and the seat 14 are constrained.
Accordingly, the said design can reduce the total height of the child safety seat 10, but can still provide a child with a support at a sufficient high position. More detailed description for the structural ratio relationships among the structure parts of the base 12 and the seat 14 is provided as follows. Please refer to FIG. 2, which is a front view of the child safety seat 10 in FIG. 1. As shown in FIG. 2, a height of the base 12 is A, and a total height of the seat 14 with the base 12 is B (i.e. a distance from a top to a bottom of the child safety seat 10) . In this embodiment, a ratio of the height A of the base 12 to the total height B of the seat 14 with the base 12 is between 0.1 and 0.18 so that the height of the base 12 can be constrained. In addition, as mentioned above, the seat 14 is partially overlapped with the base 12 in the height direction. Accordingly, the purpose of reducing the total height of the child safety seat 10 can be achieved.
Generally speaking, the total height of the child safety seat is between 600mm and 700mm concerning an average size of the children and a seat space in a car. In a preferred embodiment, the total height B of the seat 14 with the base 12 (i.e. the said the total height of the child safety seat 10) is limited between 600mm and 650mm while the height A of the base 12 is limited between 70mm and 110mm. Accordingly, the purpose of changing the structure ratio of the child safety seat 10 can be achieved. The structure heights mentioned in the said embodiment are not limited. In other words, the said height ratio ranges can also be applied to another child safety seat with different structure heights for achieving the same purpose mentioned above, and use safety of this child safety seat can still be ensured.
Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 2, a distance between a sitting position of the seat 14 and a bottom surface of the base 12 is C. In the present invention, the child safety seat adopts a design that the distance C between the sitting position of the seat 14 and the bottom surface of the base 12 is greater than the height A of the base 12, SO as to prevent the base 12 from being excessively high to cause that a width of the seat 14 for sitting needs to be reduced. In a preferred embodiment, the distance C between the sitting position of the seat 14 and the bottom surface of the base 12 is preferably less than 140mm.
As for a height ratio of the supporting body 16 of the base 12 to the sliding slots 18 and a matching design for the sliding slot 18 and the rib structure 22, the related description is providedas follows. As shown in FIG. 2, aheight of the sliding slot 18 is D (i.e. a depth of the sliding slot 18), a height of the supporting body 16 is E, and a distance between the sitting position of the seat 14 and a bottom surface of the rib structure 22 is F. In the present invention, a ratio of the height D of the sliding slot 18 to the height E of the supporting body 16 is between 1.5 and 2, and a ratio of the height D of the sliding slot 18 to the distance F between the sitting position of the seat 14 and the bottom surface of the rib structure 22 is between 0.8 and 0.9. In a preferred embodiment, the height D of the sliding slots 18 is between 50mm and 70mm, the height E of the supporting body 16 is less than 40mm, and the distance F between the sitting position of the seat 14 and the bottom surface of the rib structure 22 is less than 90mm. In such a manner, when the seat 14 slides relative to the base 12 by the rib structure 22 matching with the sliding slot 18 of the base 12, a sliding support, which is formed according to the constrained ratio of the height D of the said sliding slot 18 to the height E of the supporting body 16, can provide the seat 14 with a stable lateral supporting force and make the seat 14 slide thereon more smoothly by constraining the height ratio range of the sliding slot 18 and the rib structure 22. Accordingly, the present invention can enhance use safety and structural stability of the child safety seat 10.
In another preferred embodiment, the ratio of the height A of the base 12 to the total height B of the seat 14 with the base 12 is between 0.13 and 0.16. Furthermore, the height A of the base 12 of the child safety seat 10 is limited between 80mm and 100mm, the total height B of the seat 14 with the base 12 is limited between 620mm and 640mm, and the distance C between the sitting position of the seat 14 and the bottom surface of the base 12 is less than 120mm. According to the design that the ratio of the height D of the sliding slot 18 to the height E of the supporting body 16 is kept between 1.5 and 2 and the ratio of the height D of the sliding slot 18 to the distance F is kept between 0.8 and 0.9, the height D of the sliding slots 18 is preferably limited between 55mm and 65mm, and the height E of the supporting body 16 is preferab]y]ess than 35mm so as to make the distance F]ess than 80mm. A sliding support, which is formed according to the said constrained ratio of the height D of the sliding slot 18 to the height E of the supporting body 16, can also provide the seat 14 with a stable lateral supporting force and make the seat 14 slide thereon more smoothly by constraining the height ratio range of the sliding slot 18 and the rib structure 22, so as to enhance use safety and structural stability of the child safety seat 10.
It should be mentioned that the child safety seat 10 can further adopt a design that a width ratio of the base 12 to the seat 14 is between 0.9 and 1 in this embodiment, so as to provide a stable supporting on the bottom of the child safety seat 10. Accordingly, the structural stability of the child safety seat 10 can be further enhanced.
In summary, the present invention adopts the design that the seat is partially overlapped with the base in the height direction and the height ratios of structure parts of the base and the seat are constrained to reduce the total height of the child safety seat. Accordingly, it can prevent the child safety seat from being excessively high when the bottom auxiliary structure is disposed on the bottom of the child safety seat. In such a manner, the present invention can greatly enhance use flexibility and operational convenience of the child safety seat while assembling, dissembling or operating the child safety seat in a car.
Those skilled in the at will ieadily observe that numerous modifications and alterations of the device and method may be made while retaininc the teachings of the invention.
