Description

INLINE SKATES CONSTRUCTION
The use of inline skates attached to boots or footwear is well known. Such inline skates are commonly manufactured using a frame that is moulded or machined from an extrusion.
The present invention relates to a new method of frame construction.
Reference will now be made to the attached drawings where: -Fig #1 shows a three dimensional view of the invention and includes the wheels but does not show the boot or footwear that it is to be attached to.
Fig #2 shows a three dimensional view of the invention and in an exploded condition.
The inline skate shown in Fig #1 comprises a frame made up of right hand side (1), a left hand side (2), a ball of foot attachment member (3), and a heel attachment member (4). Attached to the frame are wheels 5,6,7,8,9 and a simulated toe rake (10). Holes 11,12 are provided for attachment of the frame to the underside of a boot or other footwear.
The frame is assembled by passing the upstands 13,14,15,16 and 17,18 into holes 19,20,21,22 and 23,24. The upstands are kept in place in the holes by welding, staking, screwing or other means.
In another embodiment of the invention the number and position of the upstands and holes may be varied.
In other embodiments of the invention the ball of foot attachment member (3) and the heel attachment member (4) may be replaced by one single top plate or by a plurity of top plates.
Accordingly the present invention comprises an inline skate frame comprising two sides and at least one top plate for engaging the under side of a boot or other suitable footwear, said sides having upstands formed in suitable positions such that they engage in holes formed in the top plate, and said upstands being retained in position in said top plate by means that prevent their removal.

Claims (6)

  1. CLAIMS1) An inline skate frame comprising two sides and at least one top plate for engaging the under side of a boot or other suitable footwear, said sides having upstands formed in suitable positions such that they engage in holes formed in the top plate, and said upstands being retained in position in said top plate by means that prevent their removal.
  2. 2) An inline skate frame as disclosed in claim #1 where there are two top plates.
  3. 3) An inline skate frame as disclosed in claim #1 and 2 where the upstands on the sides are secured to the top plate by welding means.
  4. 4) An inline skate frame as disclosed in claim #1 and 2 where the upstands on the sides are secured to the top plate by mechanical staking means.
  5. 5) An inline skate frame as disclosed in claim #1 and 2 where the upstands on the sides are secured to the top plate by means of screws.
