Abstract

A method of deploying multiple Xmas Trees (XT) 1, 2 from a vessel 3 by means of a tool 4 and deployment device 5. The multiple XTs are deployed subsea 6 and landed on the seabed or subsea structure whilst connected together. The. XT's are then disconnected from each other subsea The system could also be used to couple multiple XT's together subsea and recover them as a single entity.

ST.JBSEA XMAS TREE DEPLOYMENT AND RECOVERY SYSTEM This invention relates to amethod of deploying SubseaXrnas Trees onto the seabed or a subsea siructure The subsea structure could be, but not necessarily limited to, a An example of the invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows two Xmas Trees connected together at surface and resting on the installation vessel or Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MOW).
Figure 2 shows both Xmas Trees connected together and being deployed through the water Figure 3 shows the Xmas Trees landed on asubsea structure.
Figure 4 shows the Upper Xmas tree being disconnected from the lower Xmas Tree.
Figures shows the upper Xmas Tree being landed on a 2"d sOsbseastnacture.
Figure 6 shows the installation device being disconnected from the upper XL Figure 7 shows the Installation devic being retrieved to surface.
FigureS shows a method of connecting multiple fl's together.
Figure 9 shows an alternative method of connectmg multiple XT's together using a clamp styhi mechanism.
Figure 10 shows a further alternative method m which muluple XT's could be connected together using a suitable mechanical device.

Claims (3)

  1. CLAIMS1. A subsea. Xmas Tree deployment and recovery system that allows two or more Xmas Trees, of same or even different types, to be connected together at surface and deployed together subsea.
  2. 2 A subsea Xmas Tree deployment and recovery system as claimed in Claim I that allows multiple stacked XT's, of same or different types, to be disconnected from each other subset.
  3. 3 A subsea Xmas Tree deployment and recovery system according to any of the preceding claims that allows two or more XT's, of the same or different types, to be connected together subset and rc vered to surface as a single unit.
