Abstract

A dry lining box has a casing 2 which is moulded from a durable type PVC material. Within the box casing are formed four thin slots 8 situated at both the top and bottom surfaces of the box and spaced at either end of the box. Securing lugs 1 protrude through these; they have a capability of fixing to a depth 7 of 32 millimetres and are adjustable vertically 6 to allow horizontal alignment of the fitted accessory. The PVC box has six cable entry positions 4 and each dry lining box of this type can be situated within 20 millimetres of one another horizontally 5 without any stress or weakness being created in the fabric structure. The dry lining box can be situated totally adjacent to any vertical joist 3.

ALTERNATIVE FIXING POINT DRY LINING BOX
Dry Lining boxes have been in existance now for many years and they utilise a system of two horizontily mounted fixing lugs which are pushed outwards to allow contact with the rear surface of the relevant mounting material.
These boxes are available in various module sizes, namely one gang, two gang and split compartment.
Dry lining boxes however are currently restricted in their application as if they are situated too close to a vertical support joist then the horizontal lug can come into contact with the vertical joist which can result in a spoiling of the building fabric and would require that the dry lining box be sited elsewhere.
According to the proposed invention[BOX-A] there will be a utilisation of vertically situated mounting tugs which would avoid the issue of any contact with vertical joisVs.
Also within the design of the proposed invention [BOX-A] there would be a degree of tolerance to allow the adjustment for horizontal levelling of the mounted accessory and also a greater depth factor to allow the fastening of the box into partitions which have a material thickness up to 32 milimetres.
Another main factor of this new design is to allow neighbouring boxes to be situated closer together without the risk of weakening the supporting fabric of the structure.

Claims (5)

  1. BOX-A DRY LINING BOXCLAIMS1. A dry lining box comprising an enclosure constructed of durable PVC type material has four thin slots formed on the top and bottom surfaces of the box and situated at either end of the box.
  2. 2. A dry lining box which also has a pair of vertically adjustable fixing lugs which can locate the box within fabric surfaces up to 32 millimetres of depth.
  3. 3. A dry lining box which consists of six in no cable entry knockout positions which are situated on the top and bottom surfaces of the box.
  4. 4. A dry lining box which can be mounted directly adjacent to any vertically situated joist's without the risk of damage being caused to the fabric structure.
  5. 5. A dry lining box which when mounted horizontally adjacent to other boxes of the same type will allow a minimum gap of 20 millimetres to be achived without any weakening to the fabric structure. * * * * *S. * S... * S. * . S * S. ** S * . S * .* **S.... * S
