Abstract

A water squirting or throwing game comprises knock-down targets and a surrounding board to which the targets are mounted. The targets are connected to the board by a hinge positioned at the base of the targets and attachable to the board at the top of the targets by the releasable fastener Velcro(RTM). The arrangement is such that when the targets are struck with sufficient force to overcome the grip of the Velcro the targets will be knocked-down by pivoting about the hinge. The surrounding board may be a printed to represent a house that is on fire, while the targets represent fires to be extinguished at the windows, front door and garage door of the house. The idea of the game is to extinguish the fires by knocking-down the fire representing targets from a short distance using water or by throwing an object at them in the quickest time. If water is used it can be collected and recycled into a water container by using guttering, which is fixed to the bottom of the printed board. The game increases the awareness of children and adults to the fire and rescue services and to have a better understanding of house fires.

Description
FIRE BLASTER -Is a water or throwing game for any age. It is a large printed picture (1830mm x 1200mm) of a house with twelve fires at the windows, front door and garage door. The picture is printed on a sheet of 3mm dilite board and fixed with rivets to a fold up frame.
The fires are cut out sections and are fixed in place by Velcro on the back of them.
The idea is to knock down the fires with pressurised water (J)ressure washer) or by throwing an object at them from a short distance (2m) and the quickest time wins. The water if used is saved and recycled into a water container by using guttering.
The idea is for children or adults to have fun and show awareness of a house fire and home safety.
This is a fun activity / game which allows people to relate to the fire & rescue service and to have a better understanding of fire.
The fixings of the fire pieces are hinged and fixed with one piece of Velcro, See drawing 5.

Claims (5)

  1. Claims 1. The fires are cut out pieces that are hinged at the bottom and fixed in place at the top by a single strip of Velcro. The back of the fire pieces and the bottom Velcro hinge are hot glue gun fixed permanently just leaving the top Velcro to hold it in position when fixing the piece back up after it has been knocked down.
  2. 2. The excess water if used is collected and recycled into a water container by using guttering, which is fixed to the bottom of the printed board, see drawing 2 &6.
  3. 3. The twelve fires vary in sizes (see drawing 7) and fall away when the right amount of pressure is applied either by water or by throwing an object at them.
  4. 4. The frame that mounts the printed picture board is made of 20mm x 20mm box steel section (see drawing 1) and folds up on its self for storage.
  5. 5. FIRE BLASTER is the name of this game, which involves knocking down fire cut out pieces on a house fire printed board.
