Abstract

The boiler is a very simple design with only one moving part, a standard central heating circulating pump 21. The cylinder 15 is filled with vegetable oil 22 and heated by a number of 3 KW emersion heaters 1 — 4 depending on the size of boiler. The temperature of the oil is controlled by heater stats 8-12 and the control panel 20. Water enters the coil 17 at the bottom and heats up as the water passes through the coil. This then is pumped around the radiators in the central heating system. Once temperature is reach in the property the room stat shuts the down the circulating pump 21. As the oil heats up in the cylinder 15 the stats 8 12 shut down the emersion heater(s) as required. In order to run the system with maximum efficiency 99% the cylinder is sprayed with an high density insulation 18 thus preventing any heat lost at source. The lid of the cylinder 14 is fasted by a number of bolts. Up to four 3KW heaters are fixed to the lid along with the control stats 8-12 and one oil temperature stat. The lid of the cylinder is also covered by an insulated Top Hat cover (19) as part of the insulation. Domestic Hot Water simply passes through the cylinder via coil 16 through to the taps or appliances in the property.

BOULTBY BOILER
This invention relates to a Central Heating Boiler.
In order to heat a property it is necessary to place a heat device in each room and control it from one heat source. In many cases a Gas or Oil burning heat exchange boiler supplying hot water to radiators. Electric Storage Heaters are a another source of heat.
Four and half million homes in the UK still do not have excess Mains Gas. -Oil, Solid Fuel and Calor Gas are expensive alternatives and require storage facilities.
Storage Heaters are another option, but due to the nature of how they are heated (overnight) a lot of the heat has been used up by the time you really need it the following evening. So this just leaves Electric Hot Water Boilers. These tend to be quite expensive to run as you cannot store any of the heat in the system.
To over come the above problems, we believe the Boultby Boiler allows properties to have Hot Water Central Heating and Domestic Hot Water cheaply and instantly, anytime of day or night.
The floor standing unit can be located in any room of the property has it needs no flue. This makes it ideal for listed buildings or apartments where all other types of fuel can be a problem. This unit is also ideal for static caravans.
