Abstract

A removable harness, for use in retaining a heeled shoe on the foot of the wearer, comprises two loops A, C, with a connecting strap B. One of the loops A is larger to fit around the ankle, whilst the second loop C is smaller and arranged to fit around the heel of the shoe. All straps A, B, C, are self-adjusting or adjustable, may be formed of an elasticated material, and may be fitted with releasable closure means. The device which may be embellished with ornamentation, enables the wearer to walk comfortably in loose fitting shoes. The application also describes a shoe slip insert comprising a strip of ribbon, with a plastic insert, shaped to fit over the back of a shoe and inside the heel, creating a support for the attachment of decoration; and also a slip insert with a loop to engage with the heel of the shoe.

Description

The shoe garter range came about in response to the need to be able to have interchangeable, non damaging decorations for shoes. It also overcomes the problem of ladies high heels slipping off while walking.
To overcome this, my invention proposes using moulded plastic and elastic straps that are kept in place by body pressure alone. These will hold decoration in place while not damaging the shoe.
The advantage of my invention is that it can be made out of recycled plastic and they keep high heel shoes firmly in place while providing the user the opportunity to combine it as decoration with other shoes.
Description-this is a non intrusive method of decorating shoes without leaving any marks on the shoes themselves. The foot is inserted through the larger elasticated loop leaving the loop around the ankle. The foot is inserted into the shoe and the high heel of the shoe is inserted through the smaller elasticated loop. This stops the shoe from slipping off while moving. I have developed the idea further by inventing other ways to hold decoration in place on the shoe without using the ankle strap loop. By using a plastic strip i was able to heat it up with an iron and melt it into the shape of the inside back of the heel of the shoe creating a stable platform with which to hang or attach exterior decoration.
Versioni. b,L Elasticated strap (A) is attached to one end of elasticated strap (B) at the centre mark of strap (A). Elasticated strap (C) is attached to the other end of strap (B) at the centre mark of strap (C). The ends of strap (C) are attached together to form a ioop with strap (B) finishing on the inside of the loop. The ends of strap (A) are attached together to form a loop with strap (B) finishing on the inside of the loop. The finished result is a shoe garter to harness the shoe onto the foot or for decoration of the shoe.
There are 2 other versions of the shoe garter range.
Version2.
A strip of ribbon (B) is folded in half and sewn lengthwise, then a strip of plastic(A),milk bottle quality, is inserted into this casing. Once ironed with a very hot iron this plastic will moWd to the shape of the inside heel of the shoe, creating firm support for exterior shoe decoration to be attached to it.
Version 3. FU0 5 Elasticated strap (A) is attached to one end of elasticated strap (B) at the centre mark of strap (A). The end of strap (B) is then attached to: A strip of ribbon (B) that has been folded in half and sewn lengthwise, then a strip of plastic(A), milk bottle quality has been inserted into this casing. Once ironed with a very hot iron this plastic will mould to the shape of the inside heel of the shoe, creating firm support for exterior shoe decoration to be attached to it.

Claims (2)

  1. CLAIMS1. A removable, shoe-harness unit which holds a heeled shoe to the heel of the wearer, comprising attachment means for the attachment of the unit to a heeled shoe and the ankle/foot by means of a larger loop of a self-adjusting/adjustable type of material or substance (or combination of materials and substances) through which the foot is passed and rests about the ankle, with a smaller loop of a self-adjusting/adjustable type material or substance (or combination of materials and substances), through which the heel of the shoe is inserted, both connected by another length of self-adjusting/adjustable material or substance (or combination of materials and substances), that acts as the connector piece, thus forming a harness that will keep the shoe firmly in place while the wearer is walking.
  2. 2. A removable, shoe-harness unit which holds a heeled shoe to the heel of 0) the wearer, to which ornamentation can be attached for the aesthetic embellishment of the shoe-harness at any point on the Q harness, ie: bows and ribbons. (\J
