Abstract

A game board comprises miniature terrain formed from polyurethane foam or resin. The board is formed by hand sculpting a model from clay, taking a mould from the clay model, and casting the board from the mould. The board preferably measures 600mm x 600mm and is 30mm deep, excluding the height of the surface terrain. The board is preferably part of a set having a particular terrain theme, with each board in the set being colour co-ordinated. The terrain themes include grassy, desert, snow, volcanic, urban and muddy, and accessories such as trees and buildings may be included with the set. The boards may replicate actual historical battlefields such as Waterloo or The Somme.

Description

Battle boards Battleboards are war gaming boards which are to be used in conjunction with miniature figures and battles are then fought out on the boards.
Each board is approximately 600mm x 600mm and a standard 30mm deep (although they will have hills/features on top of the 30mm) and are made from polyurethane foam or resin. Each board is originally hand sculpted from clay, then a mould is taken from that clay sculpt, finally a board is cast from the mould. Each board will be a specific colour so that all boards within a range will match as will any accessories.
There are currently 6 themes for the boards which are: FORRENT A grassy terrain. Some of the boards in this range show rivers or lakes and rock formations, the others show hills with some rock and stone work.
ZAHARA -A sandy desert terrain. The boards will have sand dunes, rocks, dry river beds and roads.
KRYZEN tI A snowy terrain with muddy and grassy patches. The boards in this range have rivers or lakes and rock formations which will be icy and snow covered. Also other boards will have hills with some rock and stone work with snow.
MOLTANIS A volcanic terrain which shows blackened, scorched earth with streams of red hot lava running through.
NEO-TEK An urban style of terrain which will be reminiscent of a war torn city with road markings etc. Bombed and dilapidated buildings will be included.
DISPARTIA I A very muddy terrain with little grass, reminiscent of the trenches and surrounding areas within the First World War. Some boards will have hills, trenches, puddles and rivers.
We also plan to create matching accessories for each theme which will consist of lookout posts, trees, buildings and rocky features. These will be made from polyurethane foam or resin.
We also plan to recreate some special addition Battleboards which will replicate certain battles such as The Somme, Waterloo and such like.
