Description

Holding Device
Description
The invention relates to a holding device for fixing articles of daily use inside a vehicle, especially inside a motor vehicle.
Articles of daily use, especially bulky articles like big bottles, e.g. drinking bottles, or handbags, which cannot be stored in pockets arranged inside a vehicle, are normally loosely positioned at one of the seats, in the foot space or in the trunk of the vehicle. However, there is the risk that these articles may fall from the seat, may slip under the seat during driving the vehicle so that they are not any longer reachable especially for the driver. In that case the articles may be scratched, damaged or bottles, which have been tilted over, may be spilled. Especially in case of a crash, loosely positioned articles may fly inside the vehicle and may be a big danger for the passengers in the vehicle. If the driver is searching for the article during driving the risk of a crash increases.
It is known to secure big sized loadings stored in the trunk for example by partitions or fixing elements like belts. But these solutions are inconvenient for small sized articles like bottles or handbags.
Furthermore, it is known using different storing devices like nets, recesses, drawers or retractable boxes.
However, these possibilities for storing devices are mainly usable for very small sized articles. But, they are too small for articles like bottles or handbags.
It is the object of the invention to provide a holding device for fixing articles of daily use inside a vehicle, whereas the holding device allows a secured storage of the articles.
The solution of the object is achieved by the features of claim 1. Preferred embodiments are given by the dependent claims.
The holding device according to the invention for fixing articles of daily use inside a vehicle comprises a first fixing element for fixing at least one article of daily use, whereas the first fixing element is shaped like a pocket, and a second fixing element for fixing at least one article of daily use integrated at the first fixing element, whereas the second fixing element provides a clamp-shaped element or a flexible strap, which at least partly surround the article to be fixed.
With the holding device according to the invention it is possible to securely store two types of articles. In the first fixing element shaped like a pocket very small sized articles may be stored. If there is the need of storing bigger sized articles like bottles or handbags, which does not fit in the pocket of the first fixing element, it is possible to fix these articles with the second fixing element, which is integrated at the first fixing element. Thus, with the holding device according to the invention it is possible to store articles of different sizes. Since the first fixing element and the second fixing element are located together at one place there is only little space needed in the vehicle for positioning the holding device.
By using the holding device according to the invention it is possible to securely store articles of daily use like bottles or handbags during driving the vehicle without the risk that these articles may till over or slip around in the vehicle. Both the fixed articles and the interior of the vehicle are prevented from damage. Even in case of a strong braking action or in case of a crash the fixed articles will be securely hold in their position.
The second fixing element provides a clamp-shaped element or a flexible strap, which at least partly surrounds the article to be fixed. The article is positioned in the second fixing element between the clamp shaped element or the flexible strap and the pocket of the first fixing element. The first fixing element is preferably positioned at a boundary side of the interior of the vehicle, especially in the foot space of the vehicle. The clamp-shaped element and the flexible strap of the first fixing element may be removable mounted to the second fixing element, for example with a plug-in connection, or irremovable mounted to the second fixing element.
The clamp-shaped element may be made of metal like alumina or be made of plastic.
By using a flexible strap, especially a rubber strap, as second fixing element the second fixing element is easily adaptable to the shape and scope of the article to be fixed.
Preferably, the clamp-shaped element of the second fixing element is pivot-mounted to the first fixing element. The clamp-shaped element may be turned in an unused position and an usable position. In the unused position the clamp-shaped element is in a plane position to the first fixing element so that neither the function of the first fixing element nor the passengers inside the vehicle are bothered by the clamp-shaped element.
Preferably, the clamp-shaped element extends along the outer boundary side of the first fixing element so that the pocket of the first fixing element may be used if the clamp-shaped element is in the unused position. For putting the clamp-shaped element in the usable position the clamp-shaped element may be turned through 900 in a vertical position to the pocket of the second fixing element. In the usable position articles may be stored between the clamp-shaped element and the pocket of the first fixing element.
According to another embodiment of the invention, the clamp-shaped element is formed of a ductile material, so that the clamp-shaped element is adaptable to the shape of the article to be fixed. By using a ductile material for the clamp-shaped element it is possible to individually adapt the form of the clamp-shaped element to the shape of the article to be fixed, so that the article to be fixed is accurately fitted to the clamp-shaped element, whereas an optimal and very secure fixing of the article is reached. Respectively, the clamp-shaped element may be easily formed for each new fixed article.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention the article to be fixed in the clamp-shaped element is a bottle, whereas the clamp-shaped element provides a -.5-rounded shape adapted to the scope of the bottle to be fixed at the second fixing element. The rounded shape of the clamp-shaped element may be formed like an U. Thereby, the clamp-shaped element is adapted to the shape of a bottle so that the bottle is close-fitting to the clamp-shaped element for a very secure fixing of the bottle.
In case of two bottles to be stored in the second fixing element, preferably, the clamp-shaped element provides a shape with two roundings adapted to the scope of two bottles to be fixed at the second fixing element.
Furthermore, according to another embodiment of the invention, the first fixing element provides a frame in which the pocket is positioned. The frame may at least partly surround the peripheral surface of the pocket. The first fixing element is mounted by this frame to a boundary side inside the vehicle. The frame may be made of metal like alumina or be made of plastic.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention the clamp-shaped element of the second fixing element is hooked in the frame of the first fixing element. By hooking the clamp-shaped element in the frame the clamp shaped element may be easily pivot-mounted. Preferably, the clamp-shaped element is positioned at the upper edge of the frame in the area of the opening of the pocket or the first fixing element. By hooking the clamp-shaped element at the frame, the clamp-shaped element may easily be removed from the first fixing element, for example if a second fixing element is not needed.
In another preferred embodiment the flexible strap of the second fixing element is clamped in the frame of the first fixing element. The flexible strap may be removable or irremovable clamped in the frame.
Preferably, the first fixing element is mountable together with the second fixing element in the foot space of the vehicle in the area of the passenger's seats and/or at the backside of one of the front seats and/or at one of the backseats. Articles may be stored securely and space-saving inside the vehicle by mounting the first fixing element together with the second fixing element in the foot space of the vehicle. If the article is fixed in the foot space of the front passenger's seat in the vehicle, it is possible to securely store the articles in an easily reachable position for the driver. is
These and other aspects of the invention will be apparent from and elucidated with reference to a preferred embodiment described hereinafter.
In the drawings: Fig. 1 a schematic view of the holding device according to a first embodiment of the invention; Fig. 2 another schematic view of the holding device according to the first embodiment of the invention; Fig. 3 a schematic view of the holding device according to a second embodiment of the invention and Fig. 4 a schematic view of the holding device according to a third embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a holding device according to the invention for fixing articles of daily use 10 inside a vehicle. The holding device comprises a first fixing element 12 for fixing at least one article of use 10, whereas the first fixing element 12 is shaped like a pocket. A second fixing element 14 for fixing at least one article of daily use 10 is integrated at the first fixing element 12, whereas the second fixing element 14 provides a clamp-shaped element 18, which in a used position at least partly surrounds the article 10 to be fixed, shown in Fig. 2.
The first fixing element 12 comprises a pocket, for example a net-shaped pocket, and a frame 16 in which the pocket is positioned. The frame 16 may at least partly surround the peripheral surface of the pocket. The first fixing element 12 is mounted by its frame 16 to a boundary side inside the vehicle. The frame 16 may be made of metal like alumina or be made of plastic.
The clamp-shaped element of the second fixing element 14 is pivot-mounted to the frame 16 of the first fixing element 12. Preferably, the clamp-shaped element is hooked in the frame 16 of the first fixing element 12.
Thereby, the clamp-shaped element 18 may be positioned at the upper edge of the frame 16 in the area of the opening 22 of the pocket or the first fixing element 12. By hooking the clamp-shaped element 18 at the frame 16, the clamp-shaped element 18 may easily be removed from the first fixing element 12, for example if a second fixing element is not needed.
The clamp-shaped element 18 may be turned in an unused position, shown in Fig. 1, and an usable position shown in Fig. 2. In the unused position the clamp-shaped element 18 is in a plane position to the first fixing element 12 so that neither the function of the first fixing element 12 nor the passengers inside the vehicle are bothered by the clamp-shaped element 18. The clamp-shaped element 18 extends along the outer boundary side of the first fixing element 12 so that the pocket of the first fixing element 12 may be used if the clamp-shaped element 18 is in the unused position. For putting the clamp-shaped element 18 in the usable position the clamp-shaped element 18 may be turned through 900 in a vertical position to the pocket of the second fixing element 14. In the usable position articles 10 may be stored between the clamp-shaped element 18 and the pocket of the first fixing element 12.
The clamp-shaped element 14 may be formed of a ductile material, so that the clamp-shaped element 18 is adaptable to the shape of the article 10 to be fixed. By using a ductile material for the clamp-shaped element 18 it is possible to individually adapt the form of the clamp-shaped element 18 to the shape of the article 10 to be fixed, so that the article 10 to be fixed is accurately fitted to the clamp-shaped element 18, whereas an optimal and very secure fixing of the article 10 is reached. Respectively, the clamp-shaped element 18 may easily be formed for each new fixed article 10.
As shown in Fig. 2, the article 10 to be fixed may be a bottle. For fixing the bottle 10 the clamp-shaped element 18 may provide a rounded shape, especially formed like an U, which is adapted to the scope of the bottle 10 to be fixed at the second fixing element 14.
In case of two bottles 10 to be stored in the second fixing element 14, preferably, the clamp-shaped element 18 provides a shape with two roundings adapted to the scope of two bottles 10 to be fixed at the second fixing element 14, as shown in Fig.3.
Furthermore, the second fixing element 14 may provide a flexible strap 20, which at least partly surrounds the article 10 to be fixed, shown in Fig. 4. By using a flexible strap 20 as second fixing element 14 the second fixing element 14 is easily adaptable to the shape and scope of the article 10 to be fixed. The flexible strap 20 may be mounted to the first fixing element 12 by clamping in the frame 16 of the first fixing element 12.
The flexible strap 20 may be removable or irremovable clamped in the frame 16. Furthermore, it is possible to mount the flexible strap 20 at the pocket of the first fixing element 12.
The first fixing element 12 together with the second fixing element 14 may be mounted in the foot space of the vehicle in the area of the passenger's seats and/or at the backside of one of the front seats and/or at one of the backseats. Articles 10 may be stored securely and space-saving inside the vehicle by mounting the first fixing element 12 together with the second fixing element 14 in the foot space of the vehicle. If the article 10 is fixed in the foot space of the front passenger's seat in the vehicle, it is possible to securely store the articles 10 in an easily reachable position for the driver.
