Abstract

The invention entails a vehicle brake light 3, 4, 5 which is able to indicate the intensity of braking. Ideally, this is done with a series of bulbs 3, 4, 5 which illuminate in sequence depending on the braking applied. The braking applied may be measured from the brake pedal travel. Preferably the last bulb lights up when the brake pedal is at the lowest point. Potentiometers may be used to perform the staged lighting function. An independent invention relates to side lights provided for a vehicle, preferably on the side mirrors. In this way, vehicles at the rear will be able to see the width of the vehicle. The lights may also be used to serve as turn signal indicators.

Description

VEFIICLE SIDES AND BRAKE LIGHTS IMPROVEMENTS
There are some innovation as improvements about the lights and brake lights vehicle systems.
While driving a vehicle, every time the brake pedal is pressed down it lights up the brake lights at the back of the vehicle, displaying to the driver of the following vehicle when the vehicle in front is going to stop, so the vehicle behind is aware of that.
At present, the brake monitoring is operated by a switch button, the switch gets activated every time the brake pedal gets pressed, it lights up the bright red lights in the back of the vehicle. But when the brake lights light up, visually the lights make no difference how quick is going to be the process to stop that vehicle, giving no idea if the driver slams down the brake pedal making a drastic stop, or going to stop shortly, or simply slowing down the vehicle speed. So because of that many car crashes are due to the space of braking time, mainly when there is a poor visibility.
The present idea is to scale down the brake lights, to have extra braking time, so that showing to the following vehicle/s when there is a gradual or imminent stop in progress. Visually, it means when the back of the proceeding vehicle shows clearly when is simply going to slow down, or likely going to stop very shortly, or drastically to stop at once. That is going to be displayed in light sequences every time the brake pedal gets pressed down and then released.
The brake pedal is going to activate, a multiple, or individuals, or potentiometer/s light switch buttonls, or as electronic lights switchles, to light up gradually at the back of the vehicle one or more bulb/s at a time, to work in sequence while it gets pressed down, so that, the last bulb will light up only when the brake pedal is at the lowest point. The type of light shapes, bulbs and colours can be various, but with bright lights also in day light.
In series, it means to light up in gradual order one or more bulb/s at a time, displaying the maximize or the minimize way of braking time.
The multiple, individuals, potentiometer/s light switch button/s, or as electronic lights switchles, that light up the bulbs in sequence, to be normally wired up, as the single light switch button activated by the brake pedal.
When driving at night along dark roads or in bad weather conditions, the front and the back of the vehicles are visible because are lighted up, but most vehicles have no side lights, so the side of the vehicles almost disappear.
To improve the safety making all the vehicles more visible at night and bad weather conditions, the innovation is to add some side bulb/s, they can be added with the side indicator, on top of each other, or the side lights could be shifted alongside the vehicle, in smaller dimensions and voltages on higher points.
The side lights could replace the side indicators, as our days some vehicles got the side indicators across the back of the side mirrors, The side mirror back end outer edge, could be vertically extended, or the length of the side mirror to be slightly reduced, to have fixed along it some small lights, on top of each other or shifted, with small bulb/s facing the outer edge, and a transparent plastic cover, thus covering vertically the bulbs, covering the entire outer edge or part of it, and each side of the cover to have the right colour/s, with a clear visibility of 180 degrees, day and night.
The configures of innovation examples follow in 1/2 and 2/2.
1/2: figure 1, shows an example of brake pedal that activates in sequence a multiple light switch buttons, first light switch button activates bulb 3, the second light switch button activates bulb 4, and the last light switch button activates bulb 5.
1/2:figure 2, shows the back of a vehicle with two examples of back lights, having all the same reference numbers as: fog light 1, indicator light 2, sequence of brake lights, first brake light 3, second brake light 4, and last brake light 5, the rear light 6, and reverse light 7.
As in many vehicles, the rear light bulb accommodates one brake light as well.
2/2: figure A, shows a side mirror example with extended outer edge, as seen from above, clearly visible the top bulb8.
212: figure B, shows some examples of side lights in vertical, and also the vertically extended side mirror outer edge with side lights as examples, on top of each other: auxiliary fog light 8, indicator light 9, and side light 10.

Claims (7)

  1. CLAIMSThe monitoring operated by the brake pedal, will scale down the brake lights, visually the back of the proceeding vehicle will show clearly when is going to slow down, or going to stop shortly, or stop at once. The process will be displayed in gradual order with light sequences, any time the brake pedal gets pressed down, releasing or pressing the switch buttons, and then released.
  2. 2. The brake pedal is going to activate, a multiple, or individuals, or potentiometer/s light switch buttons, or as electronic light switches, to light up gradually at the back of the vehicle one or more bulb/s, at a time, working in sequence while it gets pressed down, so that, the last bulb will light up only when the brake pedal is at the lowest point. The type of light shapes, bulbs and colours can be various.
  3. 3. The multiple, individuals, potentiometer/s light switch buttons, or electronic light switches that light up the bulbs in sequence, to be normally wired up as the single light switch button activated by the brake pedal.
  4. 4. The meaning of side lights is to make all the vehicles more visible at nights and bad weather conditions, the side lights could be fixed with the side indicators, on top of each other or shifted alongside the vehicle, in smaller dimensions and voltages on higher points.
  5. 5. The side lights could replace the side indicators, as our days some vehicles got the side indicators across the back of the side mirror.
  6. 6. The side mirror back end outer edge could be vertically extended, or slightly to be reduced is length to have added to it, in vertical some small lights, on top of each other or shifted, it will have some small bulb/s with various shaped transparent plastic cover/s, thus covering vertically the bulb/s, covering the entire outer edge or part/s of it, each side of the cover/s to have the right colours, with a clear visibility of 180 degrees, day and night.
  7. 7. The lights can be as; mignons, bulbs, florescent, tubular.
