Abstract

The invention relates to a toilet flush system in the form of a front flush mechanism comprising two push buttons set into an aperture on the front of a cistern. The push buttons preferably operate two rods contained within a dry jacket within the cistern. The dry jacket preferably houses the rods which pass through an end cap/guide to connect with the flush mechanism within the cistern. The buttons are connected to the operating rods on the inside of the cistern and are held in place by an end cap at the top of the dry jacket, which guides the rods and keeps them in situ. The end of the rods may have a cap/tip which connects to a dual flush mechanism. The dry jacket is preferably cast as part of the cistern during manufacture. By having the buttons on the front of the cistern, at a position which when the seat/lid is in the raised position, has to be lowered before the flush can be operated, teaches children to lower the seat/lid after flushing the toilet.

Description

TOILET FRONT FLUSH SYSTEM
STATEMENT
We have all been to toilets and seen the toilet seat in the up' position. Ask any female what annoys them most in the bathroom and that is it.
This idea ensures that every person who uses the toilet will put the seat down automatically when they have finished using it. They will do this because they have to.
The flush mechanism is a simple downward slide mechanism on the front of the cistern behind the seat. The seat has to be down in order to operate the mechanism. Children can be taught from a much earlier age to flush the toilet and close the lid because they can now reach the flush mechanism as it will be many inches lower.
DESCRIPTION
An example of the invention is firstly described by referring to the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 Shows the position of the flush mechanism in relation to the cistern and the dual flush buttons and the direction of flush operation.
Figure 2 Shows the operation of the flush mechanism once the toilet has been used.
The lid needs to be lowered in order to operate the mechanism.
Figure 3 Shows the component items within the cistern and mode of operation.
This toilet flush mechanism is a manual downward push mechanism. It can be single or dual operated (fig 1). The cistern would have an aperture at the central front for the push buttons(fig 3). Two metal (stainless steel) operating rods are attached to the push buttons on the inside of the cistern (fig 3). The cistern would be cast at manufacture with a dry pocket' inside to encase the operating rods (fig 3). Inside the dry jacket the rods are held in place by means of an end cap placed at the top of dry jacket to guide the rods and keep them in situ. The end of the rods have a cap/tip which connects to a dual flush mechanism. (The dual flush mechanism is an existing standard mechanism in most modern toilets).
