Abstract

Shown is a transit and display container provided with pick-up and dispensing means for individual sheets stacked therein. The container is made from a cross type blank and the dispensing means consists of a hinged arm that ends in a pick-up tab or finger which has an adhesive, e.g. contact adhesive, on the surface facing the individual sheets. In use, the arm is lowered towards the top sheet in the stack until the adhesive side of the tab makes contact with the sheet, which then can be detached from the stack when the arm raises back to its default position. The arm is integral to the container and generally provided on its upper surface. The embodiment from the priority documents shows that the arm may be outlined by lines of weakness on the cover to then be detached or pressed out from the cover.

TITLE
Pick Up Box
BACKGROUND
The invention relates to a box which the user can use to pick up individual items from the multiple contents of the box and present a single item for easy extraction and use.
In many circumstances boxes contain multiple numbers of items and it is difficult to separate 1 item for extraction and use. This invention allows the user to separate the item from the others with only one hand and to be able to extract said item with the minimum of time and effort.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
To overcome this problem, the invention proposes a box to firstly hold the multiple numbers of items and through the inclusion of a pick up system within the box design be able to select one item at a time for extraction and use
ADVANTAGES
The invention will allow individual items to be extracted from a pile of same from inside a box.
The invention will allow repeated extraction of single items using only one hand and minimum time and effort.
The invention is already included in the box when sold and is not an additional item The invention does not increase the amount of packaging needed for the items and does not affect recyclability or complicate disposal of the empty box when all items inside have been exhausted.
INTRODUCTION TO DRAWINGS
An example of the invention will now be described by reference to the accompanying drawings * Figure 1 shows the box before being constructed * Figure 2 shows the box without outer cover, the invention is revealed and ready for use * Figure 3 shows the same box from reverse showing locking tab crucial to pick up arm * Figure 4 shows the operation of the pick up of one item ready to be extracted from a pile of same * Figure 5 shows the invention with an item ready for extraction * * 3
DESCRIPTION
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates generally to a box which allows the user to dispense one item from a multi item stack of products held within the box.
BACKGROUND
Boxes are very widely used to transport and protect various products all over the world. They can take the form of transit boxes as well as display and point of sale boxes. All these boxes can then allow the purchaser and user access to the products inside.
One industry where a particular use of a box is the hairdressing industry, where pre cut sheets of Aluminium foil are held in a box awaiting use by the technician in the hair colouring process. A particular problem is extracting one sheet at a time for single use; the foil is easily damaged and difficult to separate from the sheet below.
The fact that the sheets have to be held snugly in the box to prevent damage during transport conversely leads to a situation where to extract one sheet means the edges are prone to damage. Also this is a time consuming process for the technician when their main focus is the customers colouring process. This results in the common practice of another person or assistant are employed to remove each sheet and hand them to the technician.
It would be advancement in the art if the transit box was inherently a dispensing box also for use by one person without damage to the contents.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
A box for the accumulation, protection, storage and transportation of its contents to the user, which also then becomes a dispensing system preventing damage to the contents and allowing easy extraction of a single unit The box is made of corrugated material. The box has fOur sides, a bottom and a lid.
The lid is removable but is able to be re-secured to protect items still in the box after partial use. Inherent in the design of the box is a device which allows repeated extraction of a single item. The end of the underside of the pick up device has an adhesive substance secured to it which allows an individual item to be lifted.
Once the lid is removed, the user presses down on the end of the pick up section and the adhesive contacts the item. The pick up section then springs back to its original place in turn lifting the single item clear of the stack below. The user then removes the lifted item from the pick up section and uses the said item. The process is then repeated as many times as required or until the stack of items in the box is exhausted.
If the stack of items is not exhausted and the user wishes to protect the remaining items then the lid is simply replaced.
This box is designed to dispense a single item from a stack of same held within a box, without secondary apparatus. The items can be of any description.
Examples of how the pick up box can be used are as follows, in the hairdressing indsdy pre cut foil sheets are used to separate portions of hair for the cOloUr to be applied. These sheets are commonly packaged in boxes from which individual items are removed for use, this is a difficult and time consuming process when tiying to rethbv the sheets without damage and usually result in a second member of staff assistihg the technician.
Alsb in the packaging industry polyethylene type bags are used for a myriad of purposes, where they are opened and filled with products, this pick up box will store them fOr use and allow quick extraction of one bag from the stack inside the box, whilst opening the end for quick and easy filling. This applies to food bags and sandwich bags used in industry and the home, in a similar way the bag is picked up ready open for the item to be placed inside, this prevents waste as only one bag is dispensed at a time.
