Abstract

The invention relates to a waste water trap D inserted into a soil pipe. The trap creates an air lock and may be removed for cleaning. The trap preferably has a number of seals C attached to the trap to create an air tight fit between the seals and the inside of the soil pipe. The trap allows soil pipes to be left extending above the height of a poured concrete floor slab such that when the concrete has set, the pipe may be cut to the correct height. The trap may be used with wet rooms and walk-in showers. The trap preferably comes with varying styles of grill covers.

Description

I
Removable access trap
Description.
This invention relates to a removable inline access trap for wastewater drainage systems.
Water entering foul waste drainage systems needs to be trapped to stop gasses and smells returning, the drain run also needs to be accessible for cleaning. The current method for cleaning is to build manholes and fit rod ding access points separate from the "S" shaped trap gullies, which do not allow a standard cleaning rod to pass through them. The standard trap gully is set in position at an exact level prior to concreting it also needs to be protected from movement and from concrete entering it.
A removable inline access trap allows soil pipes to be left long, well above the concrete pour level and cut down to the correct height after the concrete has set and because it is easily removable it will allow rod ding access from the same location, it also allows the change of use where a gully close to a wall the trap simply pulled out and a toilet fitted into the same soil pipe. A removable inline trap would also simplify the drainage to wet rooms and walk in showers. The removable inline trap would come with varying style of grill covers to suit application and use, not shown in Figure 1 for clarity.
Drawing 1/2 Figure 1 shows plan view of removable inline trap with a diameter to fit within a soil pipe. Drawing 1/2 figure 2 shows section AA where B shows the soil pipe to be trapped, "C" shows one of a number of sealing rings attached to the removable trap to ensure an air tight fit, "D" shows the trap unit, "B" show area filled with water, "F" shows typical grill cover. Drawing 2/2 figure 3 shows section AA with a deeper trap for soil pipes not vertical.
Wastewater enters the top of the trap proceeds around the trap to below, leaving water in area "E" to maintain air tightness.
